Exhibition Announcement - Art Fair Tokyo 2022
KOTARO NUKAGA will be exhibiting at ART FAIR TOKYO 2022, held at the Tokyo International Forum from March 11 (Fri). At this art fair, KOTARO NUKAGA will exhibit works by Tomokazu Matsuyama, Yuichi Hirako and seven other artists.
Tomokazu Matsuyama’s new work “People With People,” is a large-scale work from his signature series “Fictional Landscape.” By drawing motifs from diverse eras and cultures in his work, it depicts the elusive relationship between the information society and human activities of today’s society. This work piece was painted for a collaboration with the duo musician Yuzu, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, and is also used for the artwork of their new album “PEOPLE” (released on March 23).
Yuichi Hirako, who will be having a solo and a group exhibition at KOTARO NUKAGA this May, will exhibit a large three-dimensional work as well as paintings. The three-dimensional work consists of a “human figure fused with a tree” standing at the upper part, which symbolizes Hirako’s work concept, and at the lower part, we see a monumental section where his world view is fully shown. This work is Hirako’s exploration for his new expression.
