Rhizomatiks 'After Understanding'

KOTARO NUKAGA Tennoz is pleased to present ‘After Understanding’, a solo exhibition by Rhizomatiks, from Sep 12 – Oct 17, 2026.

At the heart of the exhibition is a plotter that continuously engraves a single, unbroken line into a rotating stainless steel disc using a diamond stylus. The line never breaks, and once a groove has been cut, it can neither be erased nor redrawn.

The exhibition presents the working plotter alongside completed metal works. As the plotter continues to engrave throughout the exhibition, the condition of the disc changes with each visit.

Knowledge has long relied on human understanding. That order is shifting: phenomena now act before we grasp them.

This exhibition frames that gap as movement: things keep emerging before us, knowable in rule, visible in outcome, never fully retraceable. What do we see, believe, and answer for?
