Mariko Kobayashi will exhibit her artwork The Heart of the World as part of ‘Roppongi Art Night 2025’ from September 23 to October 5, 2025.

Various plants and animals gather before the “Tree Shower,” drawn by the blessings of water cascading from the ceiling. Using a diverse range of natural materials such as fabric, thread, washi paper, and clay, the installation expresses the cycle of life in plants and animals throughout the space through techniques like dyeing and embroidery. Water, the source of all life – where does it flow after leaving, what journeys does it undertake, and how does it return to us once again? This installation evokes a fragment of the story of life, interconnected and endlessly repeating through the movement of water.
