Yuki Tawada and Fuku Fukumoto

The artist unit of Tawada (photography) and Fukumoto (ceramics), which started in 2020, originates from the educational field of Kyoto University of Art.
“Ceramic art is a mutative dream, and for me it is like a cyborg.The moment a photograph is turned into ceramics by Fukumoto’s hand, it is transformed into a millennial image. “ (Tawada) “In working with Tawada, the issue of invisible images haunts the physics of ceramics like ghosts.”(Fukumoto) They have been working on their artwork by researching photographic underglaze transfers and photographic ash glazes. Past exhibitions include “Idle Curiosity” at Kyocera Gallery, Kyoto (2023), “Accidental Curiosity” at Gion Konishi, Kyoto (2023), “DEVIATING VOICES: Faculty Show of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, KUA” at Galerie Aube, Kyoto (2022), “KUA ceramic lab” at Galerie Aube , Kyoto ( 2021,2022,2023), and in 2024, they plan to exhibit at HOKKAIDO PHOTO FESTA 2024 and the Arles International Photo Festival 2024.
