Takeshi Yasura
OVERVIEW
Takeshi Yasura completed an MFA in Sculpture at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2018, and completed study at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in 2020. The artist is based in both France and Japan. His practice apprehends various actors—technology, living organisms, inanimate matter, and human beings—not along a vertical hierarchy but on a horizontal plane, aiming to acknowledge each existence in its own right. In 2018, the artist participated in the artist-in-residence program “END OF SUMMER” in Portland. Major exhibitions include ‘TOTEM ORGA(H)’(Kohoku Water Reclamation Center, Kanagawa, 2026), ‘The 36th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts’ (Slovenia, 2025), ‘Our Ecology: Toward Living on the Planet Earth’(Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, 2023–24), ‘Ecology: Dialogue on Circulation – Ephemeral Dockers’ (Ginza Maison Hermès Le Forum, Tokyo, 2024), ‘Reborn-Art Festival 2021–22’(Miyagi, 2021), and ‘Le 65e Salon de Montrouge’(Paris, 2021).His works are included in the collections of the Watari-um Museum of Contemporary Art(Tokyo, Japan), the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa(Ishikawa, Japan), and the Shiga Museum of Art(Shiga, Japan).
