KOTARO NUKAGA is pleased to announce that Michael Rikio Ming Hee Ho’s solo exhibition ‘she told me that im sad and lonely in a whimsical and silly kind of way’ will be held at BABY THE COFFEE BREW CLUB in Tokyu Plaza Harajuku Harakado from February 22 to March 5, 2025.
In this new body of work, Michael Rikio Ming Hee Ho moves between loneliness and tenderness, where small moments of beauty persist in a quiet, almost stubborn way. The text in these paintings speaks to the viewer like an inner monologue, reframing existential doubt with humor, patience, and a kind of optimism that feels both hesitant and sincere. Nature, time, and companionship become metaphors for self-acceptance, turning uncertainty into something soft, something willing to grow. As the world feels like it’s unraveling into chaos, Ho wonders if, perhaps, it’s also coming together in quiet, ordinary ways.
