Four works by Tomokazu Matsuyama to be collected in a Japanese art museum

March 21, 2024

KOTARO NUKAGA is pleased to announce that four major works by Tomokazu Matsuyama were collected by the following museums in Japan for their acquisition of the year 2023.

Based in New York, Matsuyama is an artist known for blending boldness with delicacy. This unique fusion is evident in his vibrant paintings marked by intricate lines, as well as in the large-scale public art sculptures he creates.

The acquisition includes artist’s masterpiece used as the main image for “Tomokazu Matsuyama : Fictional Landscape” (Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art), Matsuyama’s first large-scale solo exhibition in his home country, and a tondo exhibited in the 10th anniversary exhibition “New Horizon: Vision of the Future” (ARTS MAEBASHI).

These works were donated to the museums by Mr. Hiroyuki Maki, President and Representative Director of BUFFALO INC. We sincerely appreciate his support.
