Takehiro Iikawa 'Decorator Crab: The Heavy Bag'

KOTARO NUKAGA is pleased to present ‘Decorator Crab: The Heavy Bag’, a solo exhibition by Takehiro Iikawa, from April 4 – May 23, 2026, across two venues: Tennoz and Three.

By incorporating unpredictable events and experiences, he consistently aims to stimulate the thoughts and actions of the viewers. His works shift with each site and with the viewer’s bodily perception and imagination, and have been widely acclaimed in Japan and internationally.

Marking Iikawa’s first solo exhibition at KOTARO NUKAGA, the show will be presented across two venues: Tennoz and Three. At Tennoz, visitors will encounter a large-scale installation that, through audience engagement, gives rise to an unexpected “landscape.” At Three, the exhibition will present works on paper and paintings.

This exhibition also unfolds in dialogue with concurrent solo exhibitions by Iikawa at Art Tower Mito, Art Center NEW, and gallery αM—an interconnected initiative that invites viewers to move between multiple venues and extends the experience beyond the conventional frameworks of the museum and the gallery.
